Jesse Hughes haalt uit naar 'March for Our Lives'

Eagles Of Death Metal-frontman Jesse Hughes heeft op Instagram uitgehaald naar de honderdduizenden mensen die afgelopen weekend meeliepen in de 'March For Our Lives'. Hij noemt het protest zielig en walgelijk.

De Amerikaanse zanger deelde een cartoon waarop een vrouw tegen een man zegt "Ik heb mijn wapen ingediend om het geweld een halt toe te roepen", waarop de man antwoordt: "Ik ga mijn penis afhakken om een einde te maken aan verkrachting." Hughes sleurde de aanslag op de Bataclan er ook nog bij om zijn punt te maken. "Als overlever van een schietpartij, kan ik je uit de eerste hand vertellen dat iedereen die protesteert en dagen vrij neemt van school, met zijn actie de nagedachtenis aan de slachtoffers bezoedelt en mij en iedere andere liefhebber van vrijheid beledigt", zegt de zanger in zijn post.

Straffe uitspraak 

Het is niet de eerste keer dat Hughes met straffe uitspraken komt. De metalzanger was met zijn groep aan het optreden tijdens de aanslag op de Bataclan waarbij 89 mensen om het leven kwamen. Nadien liet de zanger al weten dat de wapenregulering een terroristische aanslag niet kon voorkomen. Ook beweerde hij dat de bewakers vooraf op de hoogte waren. Die woorden nam hij later terug.

Nieuw account

Er kwam veel negatieve commentaar op de posts van Hughes. De zanger heeft laten weten dat hij zijn politieke statements voortaan via een ander account gaat delen. In totaal liepen er wereldwijd afgelopen weekend meer dan een miljoen mensen mee in de mars tegen het toenemende wapengeweld in de VS. Vooral studenten en jongeren kwamen op straat. In Washington DC liepen rond de 800.000 manifestanten van het Witte Huis naar het Capitool.

Obviously....The best thing to do to combat chronic abusers and disregarders of the law(like the law against Murder) is to........pass another Law!.....Genius!!!...... but before we pass this law we're going to denigrate the memory and curse ourselves by exploiting the death of 16 of our fellow students for a few Facebook likes and some media attention....and look how well civil rights abuses as it concerns firearms helped to protect me and my friends in Paris!!!!! This almost sounds like the plan of like a kid maybe like a high school student....!. Oh wait that's right.... The Whitney Houston song about letting the children lead the way wasn't actually had operating paradigm for life.....And when the truth don't line up with your bullshit narrative just hold your breath and stamp your feet and refused to except it.... then take multiple days off of school playing hooky at the expense of 16 of your classmates blood....!.... it might be funny if it wasn't so pathetic and disgusting......As the survivor of a mass shooting I can tell you from first-hand experience that all of you protesting and taking days off from school insult the memory of those who were killed and abuse and insult me and every other lover of liberty by your every action.....Long Live Rock'n'Roll..... and may everyone of these disgusting vile abusers of the dead live as long as possible so they can have the maximum amount of time to endure their shame....and be Cursed....
